Start with preferences.
Explore a request flow that begins with how someone wants to communicate.
Make room for every voice.
For people with speech disabilities, including aphasia, a conversation can need more time, different tools, and a patient partner. I’m exploring how software can support that space.
TalkTogether is an iPhone prototype for supported conversation. The longer-term idea is to connect people with trained volunteers. Today, the experience uses a fictional volunteer flow to explore communication preferences and conversation tools.
The prototype brings communication support into a focused flow, from setting preferences to ending a conversation.
Explore a request flow that begins with how someone wants to communicate.
Saved phrases and offline speech give the prototype more than one way to express a thought.
Explore clear report and end controls in a fictional volunteer conversation.
The project combines interface development with ongoing device and text-size checks. A working demo is a starting point for evaluation.
The volunteer experience is fictional. Real volunteer matching and live conversations are not implemented.
Dynamic Type checks are in progress on a physical iPhone. Compatibility and accessibility evaluation remain ongoing.
Participant testing and a live pilot are future stages, after the remaining technical checks.
TalkTogether is in development. The current build uses fictional volunteer interactions and is not a live service. Device checks and accessibility evaluation remain in progress.
